Art Gallery

Location ID: 1776

This amazing period film location was originally built in 1878 and acted as a Royal Palace – an official city residence of the Knyaz, after Sofia was declared the capital city of Bulgaria, and the government established the building as serving governmental purposes. Today the building is declared a permanent cultural monument and is part of the National Art Gallery Complex, hosting numerous art pieces from the rich cultural history of the country. The most notable part of it is the royal Ballroom, which astounds with its decorative elements on the walls and ceiling, plated with 23 carat gold, the hardwood floor and original chandeliers. Both the exterior and the usable interiors of this magnificent building can play various period and contemporary locations. And it is located right in the heart of the city center, in convenient proximity of many other impressive and versatile filming locations.
