Sofia Central Train Station is the main passenger railway station of Sofia, and the largest train station in the country. It is situated just a couple of kilometers away from the city center and is in immediate proximity to all major city sights and other beautiful and practical film locations in the heart of the city. The train station is a large transportation hub, uniting practically every other mode of ground and underground transportation available in the city. The station itself has a long and rich history, being built in the far 1888, but since it has undergone several renovation stages, the last of which was concluded in 2016 and costed nearly 30 million euros.
